Sports Thoughts Podcast

Criticism of the Australian Cricket team’s celebrations following their win in the Ashes, as well as the upcoming NRL finals.

We talk about the end of season “Mad-Mondays” and other celebrations in professional sport, we briefly discuss the FIBA World Cup and we talk about the upcoming NRL finals series – with the message….Don’t change anything!

Always a controversial topic the “Mad-Monday” issue. At one end of the argument you get the “Professional sports people are role models and should be held to a higher level of accountability than the rest of society” type thinking. Then you’ve got the “In the end Professional sports people are just humans and providing they keep to accepted societal standards, they’re entitled to blow off a bit of steam and have some fun after the end of the season or when they achieve a team goal”.

What’s the right answer? That’s up to you to decide!
